What should we do during landing?

Paragliding involves taking off through running and landing by gradually reducing speed through running as well. However, in many cases, this is unnecessary, as your paragliding instructor utilizes a technique known as “palye” to almost reset the speed during the landing, gently placing you on your feet. What should we do during take-off?

You will receive comprehensive instructions before the flight, emphasizing not only what you should do but also highlighting specific actions you should avoid. During the take-off phase of paragliding, it is crucial to maintain a controlled acceleration. Any unplanned movements, such as sitting or jumping, by the passenger can impede the paraglider’s take-off. In such instances, the take-off is halted, the parachute is laid out again on the runway, and the take-off process is repeated.

Who cannot paraglide?

Weather conditions change hourly, and as paragliders can remain aloft for a longer duration in warming air, we recommend the following options: for extended airtime, guests can opt for 1-3 hour flights. To capture more beautiful photos, we suggest flights between 9-11 am, taking into account the sun’s position. Contrary to common belief, sunset flights do not offer the most favorable views 🙂. I understand this might disappoint you 🙂.

How long do we stay in the air?

Paragliding involves gliding through the air, and Oludeniz Babadag offers a peak elevation of 1969 meters. Typically, when a paraglider takes off from Babadağ, the flight lasts around 25 minutes. However, if acrobatics are incorporated, the flight may be slightly shortened by 5 minutes due to rapid altitude loss. Fortunately, for guests eager for more airtime, we can extend the flight by an additional +15 minutes at no extra cost. This extension is made possible through thermal waves, provided the weather conditions are favorable. To maximize your time in the air, it is recommended to schedule flights around noon.
