Paragliding beginner training
The initial course is termed as the Paragliding Beginner Training. This course introduces you to the sport of paragliding and you receive the necessary theoretical knowledge. You engage in ground exercises to develop paragliding skills and achieve control over the wing. Tandem paragliding sessions with the instructor precede your inaugural flight. Finally, you undertake your initial solo flights from lower elevations, under the guidance of radio control.
Theoretical trainings
The theoretical aspects of paragliding training are conducted within a classroom setting. The Paragliding Beginner Training involves approximately 24 hours spread over 3 days of theoretical instruction.
Paragliding ground practice
In the course of paragliding training, a significant portion involves ground exercises. The objective of these exercises is to acquire the skills necessary for initiating the flight of the paraglider, specifically, mastering the take-off process.
Tandem flight
Prior to engaging in solo paragliding, you will partake in a tandem paragliding flight with the instructor. This is 20-minute Throughout this duration, our goal is to acclimate you to paragliding and instill a sense of trust in the experience.
Situation assessment
Assessments are carried out to evaluate the understanding of theoretical lessons. Your performance in ground studies and tandem flights is scrutinized through video recordings. Once you are considered prepared, your solo flights commence.
Solo flights
You will undertake seven paragliding flights from hills ranging between 50 to 100 meters, under the supervision of an instructor. Initially, every stage of the first flights is executed following the instructor’s commands, and subsequently, attempts are made to perform some tasks without explicit commands in the following flights.
Finishing flight
Successful students in low hill paragliding flights progress to high hill flights. Low hill flights focus on learning correct take-off and landing skills, with relatively short time in the air. In high hill paragliding flights, students experience longer gliding times.
You can’t fly on your own, yet!
Completing paragliding beginner training is insufficient for flying independently. Following the beginner training, you have the option to pursue further training or engage in ongoing practice with local clubs or groups of friends in your area.
What did we learn?
You undergo essential theoretical courses necessary for paragliding, covering subjects such as aerodynamics, meteorology, air traffic rules, material knowledge, and emergency situations.
With ground studies, which is the most important stage of paragliding: you reinforce the logic of take-off and landing.
You learn and experience safe take-off and landing maneuvers under the control of the instructor.
What’s Next?
After the initial training, if you like the sport and want to continue, you can move on to the next stage.
These stages are respectively:
Club pilot (p3)
Experienced pilot (p4)
Professional pilot (p5)
Tandem and Instructing
